Driver Cited for Reckless Driving in Friday Night Incident

VICTORIA – A single car accident in Victoria last Friday night saw a woman narrowly miss a utility pole, while striking the guide wire for that pole.

Victoria Police Chief Keith Phillips responded to the accident at approximately 11:55 p.m. as a green 1994 Saturn sedan had run out of the road and into the guide wire. Luckily the ground was soft enough in the area to keep the vehicle from traveling far off the road and causing further damage.

The driver was identified as Flossie Robertson of Victoria. Also responding to the call were Victoria Fire and Rescue emergency services personnel, but Robertson refused treatment and was not transported from the scene.

Chief Phillips noted that he did issue a reckless driving citation.
