Drakes Branch Woman Sentenced to 100 Years

DRAKES BRANCH – A 49-year-old Drakes Branch woman who went on a breaking and entering crime spree last fall will now spend three-and-a-half years in jail.
Charlene Read was sentenced to 100 years in jail by the Prince Edward County Circuit Court last week after pleading guilty to five breaking and entering charges.
Read was also ordered to pay $3,913.21 in restitution and 96 years and six months of her sentence was suspended.
Read admitted to five breaking and enterings, which occurred between Oct 15 and Oct 19 of last year.
In addition to crimes in Prince Edward County, Read was also charged with multiple break-ins in the Charlotte County communities of Keysville, Eureka and Ontario.
