Drakes Branch Man Wounded in Late Night Shooting

At 2:27 a.m. on Monday, September 23, 2013, the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a subject stating he had been shot at three times. In fact, he was struck once in the left shoulder.

The Sheriff’s Office and State Police responded to the scene along with Fire and Rescue and found that Roger Scott Blair, age 41 of Moss Creek Lane in the Drakes Branch area, had a gun shot wound to his shoulder. Blair indicated that he was arguing with a female when the shooting occurred.

While members of the rescue squad were giving aid, a traffic stop was made a short distance away from the scene and Katrina Hutton, age 30 of Moss Creek Lane, was taken into custody and charged with malicious wounding.

At this time, this case is still under investigation by the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office.

In January 2011, Hutton was charged with assault and battery in Charlotte County General District Court, but the case was dismissed.

In June 2011, Hutton was charged with DUI, consuming alcohol while driving, and defective equipment in Prince Edward County. Those three cases have been continued thirteen times since then, and Hutton is due back in court on November 5, 2013.
