buzzettaThe Farmville Police Department maintains that the investigation into the death of Frank Buzzetta that began as the result of a “…call for service” on May 29 is a “death investigation.” Chief of Police Curtis Davis said in a short interview on Tuesday afternoon, “There is absolutely no evidence at this point that lends suspicion to the idea that there is any danger whatsoever to the general public. What we are asking the public for at this time is to perhaps cut back on the speculation about the case. This is a difficult time for the family. It is important for the full investigation to follow its course to the end without putting any more stress on the family than they are already feeling.” The following is a press release that was issued from the office of Lieutenant W.H. Hogan of the Farmville Police Department:

“FARMVILLE, VA – The Farmville Police Department is currently conducting a death investigation as a result of a call for service in the 1400 block of South Main Street on Friday May 29, 2015. A male subject was pronounced dead on scene. Investigators were summoned to the scene to conduct a detailed investigation into the cause of death. Evidence was collected from the scene for processing at the Department of Forensic Science and the body was sent to the Medical Examiner’s Office for further forensic investigation. This case has not been classified beyond a death investigation at this time and there are no known or suspected threats to public safety.  As in any case of this nature, only a complete investigation can determine the full findings. The Medical Examiner’s Office will notify the police department when they determine the official cause of death. The investigation by the Farmville Police Department and the Medical Examiner’s office is continuing and will take time to be concluded. During this time period, out of respect for surviving family and friends, only limited details of the investigation can be shared. We ask for patience and understanding during the course of this investigation.  We also ask that everyone consider that any speculation on the matter could be damaging to the investigation and difficult for surviving friends and family. If someone has information they feel is important to the investigation they are encouraged to contact the Farmville Police Department.”
