Crime Spree Includes One Dozen Eggs

A 49-year-old Charlotte County woman has received more charges following an ongoing investigation.

To date, Charlene Read has received 28 charges stemming from breaking and entering that occurred in both Charlotte and Prince Edward counties last month.

The charges in Charlotte County stem from residential breaking and entering incidences that occurred in Keysville, Eureka and Ontario.

According to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Department, a list of items Read allegedly stole includes guns, jewelry, tools, fishing rods, leaf blowers, play stations, Xbox, laptop, Ipad, Nintendo games, a Wii gaming system and games and 3 flat screen TVs.

Sources also indicate that Read allegedly stole a dozen eggs from a chicken coop when she was unable to gain entry into a home.

There are reportedly ten victims in Read’s crime spree. All items have been returned to their owners.

In Prince Edward County Read has received five breaking and entering and four grand larceny charges in which she is accused of stealing an Ipad, jewelry, gaming systems and an air rifle from residents.
