LUNENBURG – The Lunenburg County Board of Supervisors will be holding a pair of public hearings this Thursday night prior to the January 11 regular business meeting to hear additional public comments on a pair of prospective businesses in the county.

The first hearing will be in regard to a conditional use permit for Timothy Dow to operate an adult living facility on property in Kenbridge. The property is owned by Ulysses Jones and is approximately 30 acres in total size. The property is located at 143 Unity Road in Kenbridge. This location has previously operated in this same capacity before transitioning to a youth facility. Mr. Dow now wants the location to return to an adult facility.

A second public hearing is to hear comments on a conditional use permit for Ralph Forehand, Jr. He is requesting to operate a primarily online and mail-order business in the county for manufacturing and sales of firearms. The business would also include gunsmithing at Mr. Forehand’s residence at 4302 Reedy Creek Road in Lunenburg.
