Constance Ann Watson Coley

Constance Ann Watson Coley was born on March 19, 1952, in Farmville, Virginia to the late

Chrisella Reed Johnson. She was later adopted and raised by the late Ernest and Ruth CarringtonWatson of Keysville, Virginia. Constance departed her earthly life and entered into eternal rest on October 17, 2015 at Beaufont Health & Rehabilitation Center in Richmond, Virginia.

Constance was baptized at an early age at Lone Oak Baptist Church in Keysville, Virginia. She attended school in Charlotte County and graduated from Central High School in 1969.

Constance traveled some and eventually made her home in Richmond, Virginia. She was a caring person who worked as a nursing assistant and as a driver, transporting people to various appointments. She was last employed by STAR Transportation Company until her health failed.

Constance married Joseph R. Banks and to this union three children were born. In 1981, she met and married Calvin Coley and three children were born. Constance enjoyed playing cards and bingo. She also loved to go out to yard sales. Until her health failed, she was out and about every Saturday morning looking for great deals that she always found. Her greatest love was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Constance had health issues for many years but she never gave up. She never let her illness stop her from doing what she enjoyed. She was a lovable person. Once you met her, you never forgot her. She will be dearly missed by so many.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two granddaughters, Jessica Howard and Victoria Banks.

Constance leaves to cherish fond memories her husband, Calvin Coley of Baltimore, Maryland; six devoted children, Joseph Lamar (Alma) Banks of Blackstone, Virginia, Kenneth (LaSonia) Banks, Kelvin Banks, Charletta Coley, Tyree Coley and Tyrone Coley, all of Richmond, Virginia; twenty-two grandchildren: Katrina, Alexandria (Corey Sr.), Xavier, Tyler, Kenneth Jr., Keneisha, Kanijah, Ken’na, Jervonte, Uvonya, Kadijah, Ramel, Ryan, Nevaeh, Tyshon, Tyree Jr., Khyree, Kyleigh, Tyrone Jr., Zakhyia, Camille, and Nazir; five great-grandchildren, Corey, Jr., Kristina, A’niyah, Kevonni, and Carter; four siblings including her twin brother Wayne Watson of Keysville, Virginia, Joseph Johnson, Jr. and Shelley Johnson of Stamford, CT and Crystal Johnson of Chesterfield, Virginia; a stepfather, Joseph Johnson, Sr. of Stamford, CT; ,and two·uncles, Willie Morton of Abilene, Virginia and Milton Word of New Canaan, CT; one aunt, Francine Thompson of Baltimore, Maryland; a devoted cousin and friends, Grace Whitehead, Yvonne Jackson, and Vanessa Moore; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
