2013 Truckers parade Against CancerThe 14th Annual Truckers Parade Against Cancer will be rolling through Charlotte County on October 11, 2014. This popular parade is an opportunity for friends and family to honor loved ones who have fought or who are currently fighting cancer. In years past over 100 trucks have participated in the parade that covers nearly 30 miles. Beginning in Phenix, traveling through the towns of Charlotte Court House, Drakes Branch and Keysville, and ending at Southside Virginia Community College, there are plenty of great locations to view the parade and to feel the power and energy these trucks bring to the fight against cancer.

If you would like to have a banner in honor or in memory of a cancer patient or survivor, contact Sheila Jones at 434-391-4026 or Mike Hopkins at 434-262-3014. A banner can be placed on the front of a truck for a donation of $250. Get your friends and family together. A group may make a donation in honor or in memory of a loved one. There are so many ways to donate. This year there will also be mini trucks for sale for $20. These mini trucks can be sent to a family as a memorial or sent to a patient to let them know you are thinking about them during their battle; or purchase a mini truck to be displayed on the parade route. Mark your calendars! You won’t want to miss this exciting event! For more info, you may also log onto www.truckersparade.com.
