Clairistine “Tine” Robinson Cheatham

Mrs. Clairistine “Tine” Robinson Cheatham, 60, of Drakes Branch, Virginia entered eternal rest Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Duke University Hospital, Durham, N.C.

Mrs. Cheatham was born in Mecklenburg County, Virginia  June 23, 1953 to the late Samuel L. Sr. and Avon Gregory Hardy.  She attended Mecklenburg County Public Schools and was a member of Rocky Mount Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir until her health declined. She was formerly employed by Burlington Industries in Clarksville, Virginia.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Denise LaShelle Robinson, one brother, John M. Hardy and one sister, Nannie B. Hardy.

Cherishing her memory are her husband, James Cheatham of Drakes Branch; seven stepchildren; four siblings, Rev. Patricia Liggon of Skipwith, Virginia, Jennie Artis (Curbie) of South Hill, Viginia, Samuel L. Hardy, Jr. of Richmond, Virginia and Elder Ronald Hardy, Sr. (Mary) of Newport News, Virginia; one uncle, Joseph White; one aunt; Clara B. Hardy; special friend Priscilla Blackwell and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Clairistine Robinson Cheatham will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 6, 2013 at Rocky Mount Baptist Church in Skipwih with Rev. Willie L. Carter, Sr. officiating.  Burial will follow in Mount Mitchell Baptist Church Cemetery in Drakes Branch.  Public viewing for family and friends will be held Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.
