Volunteers or the lack of volunteers is an issue that many organizations face today as people and members go about the many different activities in their daily lives. An overall lack of help and volunteers led the Lunenburg Chamber of Commerce to restructure some of their activities and ultimately stop being the lead organizer of Victoria Autumn Days.

When Victoria town officials agreed to step in and keep the event going this year, they also knew they would need volunteers to step up and help with the event. Theresa Beckett, who has been at the forefront of organizing the event for the town, said that early on there was some concern that there would not be enough volunteers to keep Autumn Days going. She would go on to note that the town sent out requests on social media locations and through word of mouth that the event could be in jeopardy.

However, a big response from many people in the town and area has helped not only keep the event going but to bring a “rejuvenated Autumn Days Celebration” to the town that includes even more activities and events this year.

Beckett noted that having the response from local citizens to help out has brought new life to this tradition and has everyone excited about the October 17th event.
