Citizen Has Police Complaint

logo lettersI am writing this commentary to reflect my displeasure with the attitude that is being taken by local law enforcement concerning my parent’s car accident that occurred on Sunday April 12, 2014.  It reinforces my opinion that that rural law enforcement officers go out of their way in establishing how incompetent they are.  They have already decided that regardless of how fast the other driver was going at the time of the collision when she struck the other vehicle, even though their speed was a contributory factor to this accident that my father the driver of the 2008 Kia bears full responsibility for this tragedy, for not yielding the right of way to a speeding vehicle that could not have been seen until it was too late.  This accident occurred at a location that is no stranger to motor vehicle accidents where the approach is clearly marked with reduce speed signs when one is heading south on RT15 approaching this intersection that is an S-curve and no clear line of sight is available when one is stopped and preparing to make a left turn onto RT15 north.  Taking into account that the excessive speed of Angela Yancy’s vehicle was a contributory factor in this accident, she bears full responsibility for this accident.   In conclusion it is my opinion that the decision has been made to close out this accident investigation as easily and as expeditiously as possible, with little to no effort on the part of law enforcement to conduct a full investigation and have all the facts in hand before passing judgment on the parties involved.

Sincerely, Peter Charneco
