CHS DECA Wins Numerous Awards at District Leadership Conference

On January 6th the DECA Chapter at Central High School competed in the DECA District IV Leadership Conference held at River Ridge Mall In Lynchburg.

P--CHS DECADuring the event, several of the students came away as winners during different competitions. Ben Atkins, a junior at Central, qualified during the event to represent DECA District IV at the DECA State Leadership Conference held March 4-6 in Virginia Beach in the Principles of Business and Marketing event.

The following students were winners in the competition:

Jessica Kimball competed in the Principles of Marketing event and placed 2nd in the role play, 3rd in the Test and 3 in the overall event.

Samantha Matthews competed in the Principles of Marketing event and placed 3rd in the Test.

Tiona Brown competed in the Hospitality event and placed 3rd in the role play and 3rd place in the overall event.

Jamori Pegram competed in the Principles of Business & Marketing event and placed 3rd in the role play.

Christy Crawley competed in the Food Marketing event and placed 3rd in the Test, 2nd in the role play and placed 3rd overall in the event.

Tawanna Jennings competed in the Quick Service Restaurant Marketing event and placed 3rd in the test, 3rd in role play #1, 1st place in role play #2 and placed 3rd overall in the event.
