Chase City Celebrates 141 Years

The town of Chase City celebrated their 141st birthday at the Chase City Main Street Pavilion on Sunday, May 18 from 2-5 p.m. It was a beautiful day for the residents of Chase City to come together and honor their town, as well as have some fun in the process!

The pavilion was buzzing with excitement as people enjoyed the sounds of the live band performing for the afternoon.  2013 Lakefest Idol winner, Destiny Townes, took to the stage to perform her rendition of “Someone Like You” by Adele and Peyton Moore provided musical entertainment as well.

The Chase City birthday celebration proved to have something for everyone.  Cornerstone Farm of Red Oak, Va. provided a petting zoo, which was a sure hit with the children.  For the history enthusiasts, a civil war re-enactment was the highlight of the afternoon as well as listening to “the doctor” explain how surgeries were performed before modern technology was available.
