The holiday season is a time for spreading joy and that’s just what The Charlotte County Woman’s Club did.

The Charlotte County Woman’s Club is a self-funded service organization and all monies are generally taken out of pocket for expenses in the name of the club. However, Gwen Hamlet, member of The Charlotte County Woman’s Club, found a grant through Proctor & Gamble and was awarded the amount of $200.

With this grant, The Charlotte County Woman’s Club had the honor of providing the Charlotte Adult Learning Center with the ability to use the money for pro-literacy and ship $200 worth of books that were given out during the Christmas Parent’s event this past Saturday at Randolph-Henry High School.

The Charlotte County Woman’s Club is currently made up of 10 members and is a part of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC). The goal of the CCWC and GFWC is to better the community and improve the lives of others through volunteer service.
