CHARLOTTE C.H. – The Charlotte County Board of Supervisors held a special called meeting June 26, 2019 to address the vacancy on the Board for the Cullen/Red House District and to discuss the radio system procurement.

Following a lengthy closed session and the vote to certify the closed session, County Attorney Russell Slayton read a statement saying that the board was requesting the Charlotte County Circuit Court Judge appoint a candidate from the four who were considered by the board.

After a forty-five day vacancy a “judge may appoint a candidate to fill the vacant seat.”

Following a motion by Donna Fore, seconded by Pierantoni and a unanimous vote, the board requested the court to fill the vacancy before the July 2019 Board meeting.

There was no vote in open session regarding any candidate nor were the names of the candidates mentioned. They were, Alicia G. Adams, David L. Moore, Amy Crystal Scruggs Shepherd and Benny O. Marston.
