Chargers Win JRD Golf Tourney Championship

VICTORIA – The Central Chargers Golf team fell just shy of winning the James River District regular season after falling to Randolph-Henry late in the season, but they recently avenged that loss and won the James River District Tournament Championship.

The Chargers continued their strong play from this year and team scores for the tournament Championship were Central 342, Randolph-Henry 348, and Goochland 362 to round out the top three teams.

Leading the Chargers in scoring were Joseph McDaniel (79), Cole Williams (80), Thomas McDaniel (89), Hogan Whitlow (94), Mason Elliott (94) and Austin Hall (97).

The Chargers will now play in the Region B (1A) Tournament next week at the Manor in Farmville, Virginia. Central is considered the favorite in the Regional Tournament and is expected to return to the State Tournament this season.
