Chargers Blast Bluestone to Remain on Top of Conference Standings

Chargers Blast 3 Chargers blast 2 Chargers blastThe Central Chargers Varsity Baseball team earned their 13th win of the season and stayed on top of the Conference 42 standings with a 12-1 win over Bluestone on Tuesday night.

Central jumped out to an early lead in the game when Christian Hall doubled and scored on a LJ Watson double to put the Chargers up 1-0.

Central added to their lead in the third inning as Nate Nowlin singled, Jeffrey Goodwin walked and both would score on a Hall hit to put Central up 3-0.

Bluestone got their only run of the game in the third inning off of starter Christian Hall after picking up a pair of hits, but Central answered with two more runs in the fifth inning as Austin Alphin tripled, Ethan Hoover walked and both runners scored on a Chris Fowler single.

The Chargers put the game away in the sixth inning as Nowlin led off with a single, Goodwin walked and both scored on a Hoover single. Hall, Fowler, Noah Dunbar and Malik Foster would all reach base as well. Nowlin drove in two more runs at the end of the rally and the Chargers held a 12-1 lead.

Alphin took the mound for the final inning and recorded a pair of strikeouts as Central cruised to the 12-1 win. Hall recorded five strikeouts on the night in getting the win on the mound.
