Captains Nathan Michaelson and Isaac Napier Reach Milestones During Final Season Plays

cms-isaac cms-nathanLAWRENCEVILLE – The Central Middle School soccer team traveled to Russell Middle School on Monday, October 17 to make-up a game that was previously scheduled for September 29 but was canceled due to poor field conditions from the extensive rain that hit the area.

The Bobcats would watch as Russell would make the first goal early in the first half of the game, but would come back quickly and would ultimately shut-out the Tigers, with a 7-3 victory.

This game would be a milestone for two of Central’s eighth graders, who both have played on the team for their entire three years of middle school.

Captain Nathan Michaelson, who typically leads the defensive line would see action in the mid-field this season and would reach his goal to score for the Bobcats before his middle school career came to a close. Michaelson would not only score one, but two goals for his team in Monday’s game, with one of those goals being scored from 37 yards out!

Also reaching a milestone in his middle school career would be Captain Isaac Napier. Napier who leads the mid-field in most match-ups and who also plays as a forward, would hold both positions in Monday’s game and would see his first hat trick of his middle school career! A hat trick for those who may not be familiar with the term, refers to a single player making three goals in a single match.

Remaining goals during Monday’s match up would come from returning eighth graders, John Schutt and Omari Morton.

The Central Middle School soccer team played their final game at home on Tuesday, October 18 against Park View Middle School. The night would see the eighth graders being recognized for their hard work and would also be deemed Charlotte County Youth Soccer Night. See next week’s Southside Messenger for photos and details from this match-up.
