Central Golf Surges to Top of JRD With Win Over Statesmen

LUNENBURG – The Central Chargers Golf team continues to roll along and recently did something no other James River District team had done in 197 matches. The Chargers beat Randolph-Henry and staked claim at the top of the JRD with the Statesmen.

Central’s only loss this season came early on to R-H on the road, but the Chargers returned the favor last week on their home course against the Statesmen and Goochland Bulldogs.

The Chargers took the team win while shooting a 160 on the day. Randolph-Henry was five strokes back at 165 and Goochland shot a team score of 186.

The Chargers were led in scoring on the day by Joseph McDaniel-36, Cole Williams-37, and Thomas McDaniel-41. Mason Elliott and Hogan Whitlow both shot 46 while Austin Hall shot a 56.
