Central Chargers Wrap Up Golf Season, Look Toward Next Season

The Central Chargers Golf team recently wrapped up their 2016 season in the 1A East Regional Tournament. Coach Tom Hoefer had a young group this year that included only one upper-classman. He stated, “We had a successful year and return all of our players for next season.”

The eventual 1A East Champion was Altavista High School with a total score of 348.  Runner-up this year was Stonewall Jackson High School with a 349.  Central finished the match with a team score of 389.

Low shooter for Central at the tournament was junior Cary Parrish who shot a 92.  Following Parrish was Cole Williams with a 96, Joseph McDaniel with a 97, Thomas McDaniel with a 104, and Mason Elliot with a 113.

Central ended the regular season with a 12-7 record. Coach Hoefer stated, “With another year under their belts we may be able to improve upon our finish this year in the next season.”
