Car Crashes into Tractor-Trailer Along Kenbridge-Victoria Road

Car crashes 1VICTORIA – An accident at approximately 8:45 on Monday morning sent one female driver to the hospital after colliding with a tractor-trailer along K-V Road (Route 40) near Central High School.

Victoria Police Department and Virginia State Police both responded to the accident where a silver four door 2007 Nissan Altima had collided with a tractor-trailer.

According to witnesses, the driver of the car crossed to the wrong side of the road heading toward Victoria. One eyewitness said that a first vehicle swerved to miss the car and the Johnny Assal Lumber Company tractor-trailer driver got as far off the edge of the road as he could before the Nissan struck the front of the tractor.

The driver of the Nissan was identified as 30-year-old Geneva Couch of Victoria. She was charged with failure to stay right of the center line. There were no charges to the truck driver.

Victoria Fire and Rescue responded to the scene and transported Couch to Sentra Southside Community Hospital for further evaluation of injuries sustained in the wreck.

The Virginia State Police investigating officer was Trooper T.W. Reeves.
