Brookneal Woman Charged in Sunday Shooting

BROOKNEAL – At approximately 3 a.m., Sunday, June 13, the Campbell County E-911 Call Center received a distress call indicating that two subjects had been shot and injured at a residence on Caroline Avenue, located in Brookneal, Va.  Upon arrival, first responders and law enforcement personnel immediately treated and transported two (2) subjects for treatment.  At last contact, both victims were in stable condition.
As a result of a preliminary investigation, Sherry Marie Wright, age 41, of Brookneal, Va. has been charged with two (2) counts of malicious wounding, and two (2) counts of using a firearm in the commission of a felony.  Wright is currently being held at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail without bond.
