On April 29, 2015, a search warrant was executed in the 100 block of East Pennsylvania Avenue in relation to a breaking and entering.  The search warrant was executed just after 5:00 p.m. with the assistance of the Virginia State Police.  This incident stems from several breaking and entering incidents that occurred in the town in recent months.  The department received three breaking and entering reports during March and April.  All three breaking and entering incidents occurred in the daytime hours.  Guns, ammunition, clothing, a kitchen drawer and money were among the items stolen.  A search warrant was applied for and issued based on information received from a confidential informant.

Items seized during the search warrant included electronic devices, a firearm, a smoking device and a hatchet.  The hatchet was seized due to being reported stolen from a separate incident in December 2014.

In addition to the search warrant, law enforcement remains positive in the direction this investigation is going.  On 5/2/15 officers recovered additional stolen property from an individual involved in this case.
