Break-In at Victoria Subway Local, State Authorities Investigate Latest Area Crime

VICTORIA – Recent break-in incidents in Victoria continued earlier this week as Subway located at 1105 Main Street was the latest location to be hit by a thief.

An intruder gained access to the inside of the store by using a tool break in the rear entrance of the restaurant. The break-in took place around 3:50 a.m. on Tuesday, August 16 and the thief stole U.S. currency from the business.

Victoria Police Department responded to the location to investigate the incident and was assisted by Virginia State Police Troopers and a VSP K-9 Unit.

Victoria Police Chief Keith Phillips said that the suspect entered and exited the building in less that one minute and was captured on video cameras taking the money.

The investigation did result in additional evidence being found and VPD investigators are currently investigating a person of interest.
