Bluestone Barons beat Nottoway 7-3

Nottoway Cougars Varsity lost 7-3 in seven innings at Home on Tuesday, despite outhitting Bluestone six to four.

Pete Reed got a hit in each of his three at bats. He tripled in the third inning and singled in the first and fifth innings.

Bluestone jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first as Keith Patrick walked and scored on a sacrifice fly.

Bluestone pushed across two runs in both the third inning and the fourth. In the third, Karl Carden scored on an error and Bryant Jacox reached base on an error. Jacox would also score off of a single by Antwan Tucker.

The Nottoway Cougars answered Bluestone’s top inning with two runs of its own in the third. Nottoway Cougars Varsity scored on an RBI triple by Reed and a groundout by Hunter McCraw.

Bluestone never surrendered the lead after the fourth inning, scoring two runs on a two-run error. The Barons would add another run in the fifth inning, and then followed it up with one more in the seventh. In the fifth, Bluestone scored on an RBI single by Smith, bringing home Jacox. And the final run came as Jacox scored his third run of the game.
