BLM Rally

This weekend we drove past a BLM rally in a town in the Northern Neck of Virginia. While I agree that black lives matter, many of the BLM protests seem contradictory.

This one, like many others, was entirely White, 30-ish-year-olds and mostly female. Why?  In the beginning of BLM I attended several rallies in support and took my Grand-boys.  Frankly angry white privileged children don’t seem to be the proper spokespeople for BLM.

I think it is somewhat insulting and condescending to hold a rally on behalf of another race without their support and participation.  

These protestors were also holding signs that read “There are no illegal humans.” I assume that is a reference to illegal or undocumented aliens.  

Globally there ARE illegal humans.  China has a one child law. More than one is illegal. There are fines and penalties for giving birth to an illegal child. Is anybody protesting that? In various African countries, mixed race children are also illegal.  In one of Trevor Noah’s monologs he states that he was illegal.

Any time you are somewhere you don’t have a legal right to be you are illegal.  The Pro-Trump Protestors at the Capitol were illegal and are being charged for it. If someone comes into your home without permission they are illegal. 

How many people who support “open borders” have the same policy with their own homes?  

How many people who support “open borders” have volunteered to take in a homeless person, feed them and provide them with medical care?

I would be willing to bet that not one person protesting for open borders (if they came home from a rally and found a stranger in their home) would welcome that person and let them stay long-term. 

As usual it is all about symbolism over substance.
