BLACKSTONE – The Blackstone Police Department is investigating another break-in of an area business that took place during the early morning hours of March 18.

The break-in took place around 2 a.m. at Bevell’s Hardware located on North High Street in Blackstone.

The suspect entered the business by breaking the rear glass door and while inside, attempted to steal firearms. At this time, it appears that no property was taken.

With the assistance of Nottoway County Sheriff’s Office and a canine unit from the Department of Corrections, officers checked the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

This incident may be related to the break-in that occurred back in January at the ZA Food Mart located on Church Street.

Anyone with information that may be helpful in solving these crimes is asked to call Nottoway Crime Solvers at (434) 645-7111 or the Blackstone Police Department at (434) 292-3322.
