Birthday Bash at Scuffletown

Scuffletown residents put on their dancing shoes last Saturday afternoon. Lisa Dickerson Daniels, owner of Scuffletown Grocery, turned ??, (never give a lady’s age, I was taught). To celebrate, Lisa invited the whole neighborhood down to the store for a party.

A party is just not a party without certain ingredients. The same rule holds true for Scuffletown. That is why Nashville recording artist, and downright good friend Gary Wayne and his band loaded up the trailer and came down. They showed up, set up, and helped everyone celebrate Lisa’s birthday in a way that only those boys can. For the second time this year they had the parking lot of the small, hometown store rocking to the great country sounds they deliver.

Lisa, as it turns out, had decided that her birthday was a good reason to have a community get together at the store. She cooked a pile of BBQ, had coleslaw and fries, drinks and such for folks to eat. She spent the majority of the time making sure everyone else had a good time. That is just the kind of special person that she is. It really was a great party. It is always a pleasure seeing and hearing Gary Wayne and his band. They are full of good music, and really have something special going on.

I can’t help wondering how big next year’s party is going to be. Happy Birthday, Lisa!
