CHARLOTTE COURT HOUSE – On Monday Billy Dunn entered an Alford Plea on each of three charges of aggravated sexual battery of a victim less than 13 years old. An Alford plea means formally pleading guilty while still asserting innocence.
Dunn was first charged on April 6, 2017 with aggravated sexual battery of a victim less than 13 years old in an offence that allegedly occurred that day.
On April 16, 2017 Dunn was charged with aggravated sexual battery of a victim less than 13 years old with an offence date of July 1, 2001.
On June 16, 2017 Dunn was charged with aggravated sexual battery of a victim less than 13 years old with an offense date of November 11, 1979.
Dunn was required to have a psychological evaluation and a competency report earlier this year.
With the Alford Plea the victims will not be required to testify.
A pre-sentence report will be completed and Dunn will be sentenced on February 21, 2018.
