Bertie H. Pollard

Bertie H. Pollard of Keysville, Va. passed on March 1, 2014 to be with her Lord. She was born in Charlotte County, Va. April 13, 1916 to the late Rawley Cleveland Harvey and Lillian Brightwell Harvey. Bertie was married April 8, 1950 to the late Grayden A. Pollard. She was a longtime member of Ash Camp Baptist Church where she was a pianist, Sunday school teacher, and member of the choir. Bertie was the last of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by two sisters; Evelyn Locke and Josephine Harvey and four brothers: Edgar Harvey, Bernard Harvey, Clifford Harvey and Benjamin Harvey, Sr. Bertie is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, sister-in-law Lucy P. Harvey, many friends and a dear friend, Elizabeth Shook. Bertie’s poems, stories, and unique sense of humor will be missed by all but lovingly remembered.

Family visitation will be Sunday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville. The funeral service will be held at Ash Camp Baptist Church Monday March 3, at 2:00 p.m., with burial to follow at the Ash Camp Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Ash Camp Baptist Church, 8687 Church Street Keysville, VA 23947, or to the charity of your choosing. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA, is in charge of the arrangements.
