“Be on the Lookout”

SOUTHSIDE – The South Hill Police Department has issued a “Be on the Lookout” alert for a wanted subject who is considered armed and dangerous.

A man identified as William Jason Roberts was involved in a police pursuit at approximately 5:30 on August 4 in Alleghany Co, Va. The suspect and vehicle were last seen traveling south on Rt. 220 in the Iron Gate area of Botetourt and the investigators believe that he was headed to Southside Virginia and Mecklenburg County where he is known to have relatives.

Roberts is a 33-year-old white male who is approximately 6’2” in height and weighs over 200 pounds, with brown hair, blue eyes and possibly has a full beard. He also has arm tattoos and was last seen wearing a black ball cap, white T-shirt and jeans. His last known address is 237 Pack Road, South Hill, Virginia.

Roberts is wanted in several states, including Colorado, where he is wanted in connection with a domestic violence incident where a female was badly injured. He is wanted for vehicular assault. He was also chased by law enforcement in Kansas where he eluded officers and escaped on foot through the woods after spikes were deployed to stop his vehicle.
