The Bluestone Barons and Prince Edward Eagles came into the Conference 34 Boy’s Basketball Championship last week knowing both teams would advance to the Regional playoffs, but wanting to claim the title of Conference Champs.

Bluestone had already won the James River District Regular Season Championship and they would maintain their position as the top team from the area with a 77-71 victory in the Conference title game.

The third quarter saw the seniors begin to take over for Bluestone as Tevarius Brooks, Keith Patrick, Najawuan Davis and Antwaun Tucker each had several buckets that made the score 54-51 in favor of Bluestone.

The Barons would hold on during a fast paced offensive showcase from both teams in the fourth quarter to get the 77-71 win.

Keith Patrick led Bluestone in scoring with 22 while Davis added 19, Tucker scored 18 and Brooks scored 14.

For PE, Nash had 23 points, Braxton had 17, Zarius Jones scored 14,  and Marty Blount scored 9.
