Paula Watlington and her business Aylor Guns and Ammo was recently recognized as the Lunenburg County Chamber of the month for November.

President and Owner Paula Watlington stated, “I have worked in the gun business for all of my life and when I opened the business in Victoria I felt like the store would fill a need and help out the community.”

Paula brings a vast knowledge of gun and ammo technical experience to the business and can answer questions or help out customers in an area where big box style locations that sell guns are unable to do.

Aylor Guns was originally known for the location in Chase City that was started by Paula’s family members, Delmer and Roger Aylor. They grew the business from a shop in their basement to a well known location in the neighboring county. Eventually both men would pursue careers in the forestry industry, but having been around and worked in the shop, Paula decided in 2008 that she would carry on the name and tradition as she opened Aylor Guns and Ammo in Victoria.

The business offers on-site sales with a wide range of guns, ammo and accessories and Paula also notes that she can order parts for customer as well, including special orders.

She stated, “It is not easy for small businesses today and sometimes it can be tough, but I enjoy helping people and the gun business.”

Paula continued, “It is an honor for me to receive this award and I truly appreciate being recognized by the Chamber.”
