Tameka Lakeisha  Beasley, age 35, of 216 Jackson Dr., Victoria, was convicted recently in Lunenburg Circuit Court of the felony of unlawful wounding as a result of cutting her boyfriend, Richard Ragsdale, on the chest with a box-cutter razor.  Ragsdale called 911, and reported that he had been cut by Beasley with a razor and that his tire had been cut.

Tamika Beasley Unlawful Wounding 6-1-15When police got there, Beasley was visibly upset, pacing back and forth and shouting.  Ragsdale said everything was okay and that they had just had a verbal argument.  Deputy Sheriff Alex Madison noticed blood on Ragsdale’s white tee shirt and noticed the flat tire.  The laceration was to his left upper chest, near his neck.  He refused medical treatment.

When questioned, Beasley admitted cutting him and the tire, but said she used a broken beer bottle.  They said the argument was about another woman.

Ragsdale begged prosecutor Robert Clement to drop the charge, but Clement said a conviction would be necessary under the circumstances, but did allow that she be released from jail that day in court.  She was sentenced to five years in prison with all suspended except time served awaiting trial from March 26, 2015 to June 1, 2015 upon conditions of good behavior and warrantless searches and seizures.
