Arrest Follows Malicious Wounding Incident

KENBRIDGE – Following an incident last week in their town, Kenbridge Police Department officers have charged and arrested Derrick Tyler with aggravated malicious wounding.

The charges followed an incident on the night of Thursday, June 8, 2017 that involved Tyler and an unidentified victim that sustained lacerations from the alleged  attack.

The officers were called to a location near Fourth Avenue and N. Broad Street around 9 p.m. on Thursday where they found Tyler and another individual who had reportedly been involved in an argument and altercation.

One victim was taken to VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital in South Hill by Victoria Fire and Rescue responders. Tyler was later charged and is being held without bond while a preliminary appearance in Lunenburg General District Court is set for this week.
