Area Club to Hold Kids First Food Drive

LUNENBURG – A local club is looking to help raise awareness about Domestic and Sexual Violence to start the New Year. The 5 o’clock Women’s Social Club is a group of Lunenburg area women who promote awareness, honor those lost to domestic violence and celebrate those who have survived.

Organizers stated, “We are asking for help with a Kids First Food Drive to collect specific items that will be distributed to shelters, programs and homes of those survivors that have fled abuse with nothing other than the clothes on their backs.”

The Kids First Food Drive will be held at Shoppers Value grocery store in Kenbridge, Virginia on Thursday, January 7, 2021. The event will take place from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Some of the requested items include:

*Peanut Butter and Jelly

*Packs of Noodles 

*Box of Crackers

The group says that any brand is fine and they are hoping to collect 100 of each item.
