Several drop-off locations have been set up in the immediate Southside area to receive donations to be sent to Hurricane Harvey victims. One of the things we do best is rally in times of need and the following entities have volunteered to make sure your donations arrive in Texas to assist those ravaged by the most recent storm.

Ontario Christian Church is holding a supply drive Saturday, September 9, from 8 a.m. to 12 noon at the Food Lion in Keysville. Members of the church will take all donated items to Gleaning for the World in Concord, who will in turn deliver the supplies to Texas during one of the organization’s many trips to the disaster area. If you cannot get to Food Lion on Saturday, online monetary donations are accepted at www.gftw.org, or you may call 1-877-913-9212.

Mecklenburg Electric Coop has placed a trailer in front of Coop headquarters office in Chase City. Rocky Branch Farms will be delivering the donations as soon as the trailer is full.

Other locations accepting donations are Charlotte Drug in Charlotte Court House and Ash Camp Baptist Church in Keysville. See the flyer inside this week edition of the Messenger for information about where to drop off donations at Southside Virginia Community College campuses.
