APEX to Hold Fundraiser Event at Diamond Hill

apex1CHARLOTTE COURT HOUSE – APEX Day Support Services in Charlotte Court House is sponsoring a silent auction and raffle to raise funds for their supported employment program. The event will take place December 10 at Diamond Hill in Charlotte Court House. Tickets are $15 which include one alcoholic beverage and hors d’oeuvres. Kids under age 10 get in free. In addition, APEX is having a silent auction and a drawing for a CZ 223 Varmint Rifle worth $500.

According to APEX, 100 percent of funds raised will go toward paying the participants real wages at Apex Community Fitness Center.

Founded in 2012, Apex Day Support Services provides day support services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

“Our belief is that we all have the right to enjoy fulfilling lives, including having meaningful activities to make a part of our daily living. Individual Support Plans are designed to help participants determine their desired goals, increase access to the community and build upon personal strengths to allow for as much independence as possible,” said owners Steven and Lorene Wendelin. “We strive to deliver services in a manner that preserves dignity, encourages personal growth, empowers the individual and minimizes intrusiveness to a participant’s autonomy. The needs and desires of Apex Day Support participants and their families are of the utmost importance to us.”

APEX serves individuals in Appomattox, Charlotte, Halifax, Lunenburg, Mecklenburg and Prince Edward counties.
