Ambassadors needed for Last Stand this weekend

March 28 – 29 is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Farmville area residents to be a part of living history. Last Stand: The Civil War Comes to Farmville is providing that chance.

Ambassadors will be stationed in the downtown area on Saturday and Sunday to assist visitors with directions to area restaurants, merchants, and facilities. Parking Lot Ambassadors will help visitors with directions to available parking and area amenities.

“The shifts range from two to three-and-a-half hours,” said Prince Edward County Tourism Coordinator Magi Van Eps. “Volunteers are welcome to sign up for multiple shifts, if they’d like. Our goal was to bring in as many local volunteers as possible, but allow them time to participate in the events themselves.”

“It is vital to the success of Last Stand that Farmville and Prince Edward County make people feel welcome,” added Farmville Town Planner Cindy Morris.

One may volunteer to be an ambassador by logging on to http://vols.pt/LPx6S3 or by calling Lisa at 434-392-3939 .
