RED OAK – Saturday, October 28, will mark the seventh year for the Sportsman’s Expo for Life. The event which was created to bring local hunters and fishermen to Christ will once again be held at Red Oak Excavating, located at 5192 Barnesville Highway.

The Expo’s mission is for the event to be a family-centered day that offers fellowship with others and stories that others can relate to and come to know Christ. This year’s Bible verse is “God blessed them and said to them, be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.” – Genesis 1:28.

Event-goers will be offered a wide array of activities in which to participate. There will be a Big Buck Contest, Turkey Shoot, .22 Shoot, Kid’s Fishing Pond, Barrel Train for the Kids, Rock Wall, Bouncy House and several food vendors will be on hand to offer delicious food for sale. Also at this year’s event there will be vendors set up that will appeal to men, women and children alike.

This year’s event will also feature several workshops. They are as follows:

12 p.m. – Kid’s Workshop

1 p.m. – Turkey Workshop

2 p.m. – Trapping Workshop

3 p.m. – Kid’s Workshop

Each year, a spring fundraiser is held to help raise money for this fall community event and with the help of that fundraiser, there will be free admission for all! The event will begin at 10 a.m. and conclude at 4 p.m.
