PEFYA would take on Amherst in the opening round match-up and despite a weather delay on Friday, they would get a convincing 17-5 victory when play resumed.

PEFYA was able to save pitching as they used several players that all did well during the win on the mound. The quartet included Hannah-Gray Schmidt, Mary Amos, Jaden Capati and Melissa Wright.

A five run fifth inning helped give PEFYA a comfortable lead after a slow start and behind big offense games from Gracie Hodges and Mary Amos, PEFYA got the big first win.

PEFYA then took on Lunenburg and this may have been the game of the tournament even though it was in the second round. Lunenburg led almost the entire game before a last inning rally helped PEFYA get the come from behind 7-6 victory.

Lunenburg jumped ahead early on when Nikera Lee hit a three run homer in the first inning. PEFYA would get runs in the second and third inning to cut the lead to 3-2. The two teams would trade runs back and forth for a few innings and the game headed to the top of the seventh inning with Lunenburg leading 6-4.

Alexa Marzloff got a one out single to get the PEFYA rally going and she later scored on a hit from Mary Amos to cut the Lunenburg lead to 6-5. Hannah-Gray Schmidt singled and both runners scored on a Melissa Wright double to win the game for PEFYA 7-6.

Jaden Capati was the starting pitcher for PEFYA with Wright getting the win on the mound as well.
